Mission: The Canton Association of Business and Industry (CABI) is a nonprofit corporation working since 1972 to make Canton a better community for both business and residents. We have served as a bridge of understanding and cooperation between citizens, government and our member companies.
Canton Association of Business & Industry (CABI) includes commercial enterprises, educational institutions and nonprofits either based in Canton or doing business in Canton. Our members range from small locally owned or operated enterprises to large international companies and include school systems, manufacturers, retail establishments, health care organizations, professionals, and a variety of other enterprises.
Giving Back to the Community
As a 501(c)(3) organization, CABI actively supports the community through charitable contributions including:
- Scholarships to Canton High School Seniors
- Scholarships to Blue Hills Regional Technical School Seniors
- Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children, formerly the Massachusetts Hospital School, annual trip to Disney World
- Canton Police and Fire Department
- Canton Public Library
- Canton Food Pantry
- Saint Vincent DePaul Society
In the last decade, the Canton Road Race has been able to donate more than $650,000 to local organizations.
CABI began as the Canton Association of Industry in 1972 in an effort to mobilize businesses, uniting business owners and community leaders for economic growth. During the decades that followed, CABI served as a voice to town government, helping to implement key development and taxation measures for a stronger business climate. In the 40+ years since the organization began, Canton’s population has increased by more than 17% with 19% more voters. The town budget has grown to nearly nine times the budget in 1972 and assessed property valuation, then $165 million, now tops $4 billion. While Canton’s economy has shifted over the years from primarily industrial to green technologies and corporate headquarters, CABI continues to serve as an advocate for businesses within the community and a strong supporter of civic and social projects to promote the local economy and create a place residents love to live.
